Keep Your Children Safe this Halloween
Falls are a leading cause of injuries among children on Halloween. To prevent falls and other injuries, children should be closely supervised during trick-or-treat activities:
- Children should only go to well-lit houses and remain outside the house at all times.
- Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
- Children must always carry a mobile phone and know how to call Emergency Services: 112 or 999.
- Bring treats home before eating them.
- Stay on walkways and avoid crossing roads. Stay together in a group before crossing a road. Wear bright and reflective clothing.
- Remember, that masks can obstruct vision.
Parents should:
- Supervise children.
- Agree a return time if children are over 12 years of age and unsupervised.
- Inspect all treats before children eat them.
- Drive slowly during Halloween and watch out for children.
Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween this year!
