EU-OSHA Safe Maintenance Campaign
It is estimated that 25-30 per cent of all manufacturing industry fatalities in Britain are related to maintenance activities.
EU-OSHA launched one of its latest campaigns to highlight important health and safety issues of maintenance-related tasks. Safe maintenance should be an integral part of any health and safety management system.
The objectives of this campaign are to raise awareness and reduce injuries. Companies from across Europe can get involved in different ways, for example by showing EU-OSHA presentation (available from http://osha.europa.eu/en/campaigns) or by entering the Safe Maintenance Good Practice Awards.
The campaign will run until late 2011 and we will be publishing updates on a regular basis.
